You can indeed step into the shoes of your favorite players in MLB The Show 23. However, one of the most exciting features for many is Road to the Show. Whether you use the face scan option or design a character from scratch, you can build the perfect player to become a sports legend. To do so in MLB The Show 23, you need the right skills to get you called up. We’ll share some tips on the process below.

We all know players have big dreams of their characters becoming legends in their own rights. However, you must start where everyone else does: the bottom. Meaning, a rookie.

In Road to the Show, that’s exactly where you wind up after you create your character. From there, it is game after game as you work and claw your way to the top. At this point, the most important thing you want for your character in MLB The Show 23 is for them to get called up.

For those of you who don’t know already, the call-up is the opportunity for you to move on from the small leagues to the big leagues. You’ll finally rub elbows with the professionals you’ve admired from distance.

To get called up in MLB The Show 23 seems easy on paper. Your rating must be higher than other players on your team that are in the same position. Additionally, your rating should also be high when compared to other players on other teams.

Sounds simple, but the process can be daunting for some and appear as though it takes forever to accomplish.

Perhaps the best you can do to ensure you rate high is to change the difficulty. If things seem a bit too hard, then lower the difficulty settings. This way, you have a better chance to improve your performance and rating.

Note that no matter how well you play, there is a chance that it can take you some time to get that call-up. It may actually relate to the position that you are in. For instance, there is always a need for Pitchers. So, going in as a Pitcher, closing or starting, may help speed the process up. Meanwhile, other positions might hold more competition, increasing how long it takes to get called up in MLB The Show 23.

So, just consider your position, hone your skills, and have a little patience. You’ll get that must-have call-up before you know it.

MLB The Show 23 is available on PS5/PS4, Xbox One/Series, and Nintendo Switch.
