Furfrou is one of the few Pokemon without evolution. So, you can only improve your prim and proper pocket monster by consistently leveling them up. As one of the weaker Normal-type, you don’t want to whip this out in an intense Pokemon Go battle. Or maybe you do? After all, it’s one of the more aesthetically pleasing pocket monsters thanks to its unique trims. Changing its form is the main reason I enjoy Furfrou. Sometimes, you want something nice to look at. You may not get each Furfrou trim in Pokemon Go, but you can admire them to find the best form.
Which Furfrou Forms Are the Best in Pokemon Go?
[Updated August 13, 2024 – added new images and personal picks for the best Furfrou trims and how to get them]
Before you get ahead yourself, know this: Furfrou’s form in Pokemon Go does not impact its performance. The only thing that comes from changing its trim is superficial.
Compared to plenty of other pocket monsters, Furfrou does come across as a real pet at first glance. It’s a big poodle, and if you’re a fan of that dog breed, you’ll probably adore Furfrou in-game.
But we’re not just looking at any trim for this charming pocket monster. We want to show off only the best Furforu forms in Pokemon Go, which is already a subjective topic.
I own only a couple of Furfrous with different trims. Like everyone else, getting each trim is difficult if not improbable since they are region-locked. But if I had to choose, I think the trims below are the most eye-catching:
- Heart Trim
- Debutante
- Kabuki Dream
The Heart Furfrou is one of the best forms in Pokemon Go thanks in large part to how unique it is. It’s simple, yet has all the charm you would expect from a pocket monster like this.
As for the Debutante form, it’s perfect for the poodle inspiration that made Furfrou. There’s something high-end about it. Almost like it would blend in perfectly at a country club or winning a dog competition like other well-groomed poodles.
And then there’s Kabuki Dream as the final Furfrou forms to round out the best in Pokemon Go. It gives the pocket monster an even more regal look, and you’d be fooled into thinking it’s one of the stronger Normal-types. Not true, of course, but at least it looks good.
How To Unlock the Best Furfrou Trims
As I mentioned before, Furfrou forms are region-locked. From my favorite picks, the Heart Trim was the only one available worldwide. However, it was only around for a seasonal event, and it has yet to return.
The Debutante Trim is only available in the Americas and Greenland. Lastly, the Kabuki Dream Trim hails only from Japan.
You don’t need to catch a new Furfrou when you want a new trim in Pokemon Go. Instead, you just need to be in that specific region. In the area typically used to evolve other Pokemon, Furfrou will have a “Change Form” section that costs 25 Furfrou Candy and 10,000 Stardust.
If you manage to travel around the world with enough Candy and Stardust, then you can enjoy all the Furfrou trends. Or maybe you’ll be forced to admire these magnificent creatures from afar like most of us. It’s rather fitting for such a pocket monster.
