It’s no surprise that Hogwarts Legacy proved popular amongst fans of the Harry Potter franchise. For those eager to immerse themselves in the magical world of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, the game is a dream come true. And even though it’s a pretty epic title in terms of content, players are already wondering whether it will be expanded upon with DLC.
Hogwarts Legacy DLC – Is It Coming?

Following the recent launch of the Nintendo Switch version of Hogwarts Legacy, many avid players are curious whether Avalanche Software will begin working on potential DLC for the popular fantasy adventure. Unfortunately, at the time of writing, it appears that the studio doesn’t have any plans to release DLC for one of the best-selling titles of 2023.
In an interview conducted by IGN earlier this year, the game’s director Alan Tew was quite clear about the developer’s stance on DLC.
We’ve been really heads down bringing [Hogwarts Legacy] to life, so at the moment there are no current plans for DLC.”

Of course, there’s still a possibility of DLC coming to Hogwarts Legacy, but currently, it seems like the studio has no plans to do so. As soon as we hear anything more concrete, however, we’ll make sure to update this guide.
If we were to speculate, though, if a DLC does one day come to the game, it will likely include more than just a new area to explore. Similar to the Deluxe Edition of the game, which gives players Dark Arts skins and the Thestral mount, a DLC may offer more customization options, new mounts, new spells, items, and much more.
As of July 26, 2024, we can confirm that Hogwarts Legacy still has yet to receive any DLC, although it did receive a free update in June.
