Players must choose one of the several fishing spots in the Gale Cliffs Region that are swarming with Conger Eel in Dredge. Observing swimming creatures such as Conger Eels allows you to locate the spots for catching them. This is crucial to avoid filling up the cargo with unnecessary fish. The Conge Eels can be hard to detect due to murky waters. Nevertheless, it is worth noting that some areas may have relatively clear water, so it is advisable to be watchful for such areas.

The Conge Eel can be distinguished by its distinct features, including its elongated and slim bodies, as well as its dark gray color. Their sharp teeth become noticeable when their mouth is open. Additionally, they possess long, thin fins protruding from the sides of their bodies.

It is important to know that you cannot complete the pursuit until you have completed the Heritage request in Chapter 2. The Conger Eel in Dredge only inhabits a tunnel on coordinates N4′ to ‘O4 that has been blocked off by debris. Players need to detonate the debris to gain access, which requires them to get packed explosives. Players can only purchase this from Ingfell’s retired whalers after completing Heritage inside the tunnel. Players need to use the fishing rod to capture the Conger Eels.

Players can then head back to Ingfell dock, where they may rest while waiting for the  Conger Eel to rot. They may then talk to the resident to receive their reward.

Note that the NPC will not accept players’ attempts to deliver a different kind of fish, even if it’s rotten. It has to be the Conger Eel.
