What Is the Best Shotgun in Resident Evil 4 Remake?
Well, at the time of this writing, there are four shotguns that you can use in Resident Evil 4 Remake. Three of them can be obtained in the game, and the fourth one is a DLC weapon. We can’t say which one is the best, as they are all quite unique and have their own niche. However, it doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t search for the one you can use effectively.
W-870 in Resident Evil 4 Remake
W-870 is the first shotgun you can get in this game and it works great for the first chapters. When you max out this weapon, it will have the next stats:

- Ammo Capacity – 10
- Reload Speed – 0.95
- Rate of Fire – 0.85
- Precision – 2.80
The biggest advantage of this shotgun is its huge power. It is capable of dealing decent damage to your enemies or even one-shotting some of them. However, it works not that great when you need to fight hordes or big bosses. Low fire rate and reload speed make this shotgun pretty bad when the situation gets out of control.
Riot Gun in Resident Evil 4 Remake
Riot Gun is quite an interesting thing. This shotgun is focused on single-target damage, which works great in certain situations. Here are the stats of the weapon:
- Power – 19.2
- Ammo Capacity – 12
- Reload Speed – 0.97
- Rate of Fire – 1.10
- Precision – 3.50
As you can see, Riot Gun deals decent damage and is very precise. Also, it has a nice rate of fire, making it good for boss fights.
Striker in Resident Evil 4 Remake
Finally, we come to one of the deadliest weapons in this game. Let’s take a look at Striker’s stats:

- Ammo Capacity – 48
- Reload Speed – 0.62
- Rate of Fire – 1.57
- Precision – 2.00
Striker has a huge rate of fire and ammo capacity. These two parameters allow you to kill hordes of enemies, even if they surround you. However, it has low precision, which makes the shotgun problematic when you’re fighting a dangerous enemy you shouldn’t approach.
Skull Shaker
Skull Shaker is a DLC weapon and it seems to be quite interesting.

- Reload Speed – 1.29
- Rate of Fire – 0.96
- Precision – 2.30
The stats aren’t that great, and Skull Shaker is definitely not a standout weapon in the shotgun category. However, it has some cool animations and is smaller than other shotguns. So, it takes up less space in your inventory.
All these shotguns are different, but we suggest you give Striker a try once it’s unlocked. This weapon is perfect for fighting hordes and it will serve you well. However, if you want a shotgun that can deal with elite enemies or bosses, then we would recommend you try Riot Gun.
