You’re not the only one who needs to chow down in the wasteland. When your dog gets hungry, there’s one solution: Canned Dog Food. It may sound rough, but when you compare it to Radroach Meat, it’s borderline gourmet. Bethesda scattered Dog Food all over Appalachia, so finding some chow for your precious pooch shouldn’t be too difficult. Even if you don’t have a canine companion, you’ll need to scarf down five cans to complete a Daily Challenge. Hope you’re ready for a howling good time. Here’s the location of Canned Dog Food in Fallout 76.

There are several ways to obtain Canned Dog Food in Fallout 76, although you may need to collect plungers for a second reason after this canine cuisine. The Can Do! Luck perk significantly increases your odds of finding canned food when searching containers. If you’re bent on gathering all the preserved grub you can, it might be worth it. Here are some locations where you can find Dog Food in Fallout 76:

  • Dagger’s Den (under a table outside the bar)
  • South of Grafton Dam (on the small boat)
  • Blackwater Mine
  • Pylon-V13 farm
  • Ranger District Office
  • WV Lumber Co.
  • Mama Dolce’s Food Processing

Although you can scavenge from one location to the next to get Dog Food in Fallout 76, it’s not the only way. You can also buy this canned consumable from various vendors (or even other players if they’ve set up a shop). You’ll need Caps if you want to buy this item outright, but sometimes that’s preferable to risking your neck for a few cans. Some NPCs also grant Dog Food as a quest reward, so you might get some kibble for being a friendly neighbor.

Dog Food Perks and Survival

The Good Doggy Endurance perk triples the effectiveness of Canned Dog Food, making it a great way to keep healthy at low levels. To get the most value from Dog Food, you’ll also want Slow Metabolizer, an Endurance perk that increases the Satisfaction rating of food. If you’re eating this meal for anything other than a Daily Challenge, you’re probably in pretty rough shape, so it’s best to know how to make the most of your resources. Time to chow down, doggone it!

Fallout 76 is available on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox.
