Sony will be bringing down the Playstation Network servers for around two hours next week. The company announced that this is just a routine maintenance period.ย The network will be down startingย 9:30 PM PST on Monday, April 18. According to Sony, the company will be deploying some “improvements” to the network.
“Anyone who already has an account can still sign-in to their PlayStation Network profile, play games, and use most applications while this maintenance is carried out,” Sony explained.
During this maintenance period, however, users won’t have access toย account management, PlayStation Video, and the PlayStation Store.
“We apologize for any inconvenience, ” Sony said. “We strive to ensure that PlayStation Network services are available at all times, but occasionally we must take PlayStation Network offline to perform essential maintenance and implement feature enhancements.
“We are working hard to reduce the duration of each maintenance.”
This maintenance to the Playstation Network follows the release of the 3.5 update that released earlier this month. That update added some new features such as the ability to appear offline, social improvements, and the ability to remote play the PS4 to both the PC and Mac. Sony also added a new Playstation Plus Hub that helps users keep track of their Plus content.
Sony seems to be on track to continue improving the network for users.
