The latest Famitsu has teased a few details for Kirby’s next up-and-coming adventure, Kirby: Planet Robobot. As fans have already seen, Kirby will be able to commandeer and pilot the various mecha suits he defeats during his quest to de-robotize Dreamland, and these suits are capable of using Kirby’s copy abilities as their own. A few of these powers include the Stone, which attacks with giant hands of granite; the Mic utilizes high-powered speakers to blast sound waves over a long distance; ESP mode comes with “psycho thunder” attacks, which are massive electric balls that can decimate multiple enemies at once. Finally, the robobots arm can be clicked into a screw and used to rotate platforms.

As for the pink puffball’s frienemies, Dedede and Meta Knight, they’ll be returning as bosses in Kirby: Planet Robobot. After being corrupted by darkness in Kirby’s Return to Dreamland, the hapless monarch gets abducted once again. This time, the invaders clone him and sic the doppelganger on Kirby. Meta Knight appears to be under some form of mind control, judging by the device attached to his mask. They’ll be in for it big time once he’s returned to normal…

Oh no they didn't!
Oh no, they didn’t!

Meta Knight won’t be waiting very long, as Kirby: Planet Robobot’s release date is fast approaching. The game will hit Japan first on April 28, and the rest of the world will see Kirby kicking robot butt on June 10. It will mark the pink machine’s second full 3DS outing, the other being Kirby: Triple Deluxe, which released in May, 2014.
