The infamous Dead Island 2 had been in the works for longer than any of us would like to admit. And finally, it has made it to the hands of fans, and it looks like the wait was pretty much worth it (all things considered). After the launch went well, Dambuster Studios is still hard at work on the game, and it seems Dead Island 2 might be getting a New Game Plus mode soon.
During a stream called XboxOn, Adam Duckett, the design director for Dead Island 2, was asked about the potential for a New Game Plus mode making its way to the game. Another member of the team took over and answered the question for the Twitch chat, saying that the team is working on the possibility of a New Game Plus mode for Dead Island 2. They just ended it by saying that fans should keep an eye on the game’s social channels for all future updates.
‘Dead Island 2’ Might Be Getting New Game Plus
Of course, this isn’t exactly a confirmation by the developers, not by a long shot, but since they’ve said they’re considering it, it’s probably in the pipeline somewhere. Other games have gotten similar treatment, that once their release is handled, the developers then add other game modes depending on what fans want, including New Game Plus. God of War: Ragnarok is the most recent example of getting New Game Plus months after the game’s initial release.
Dead Island 2 has been going strong since its release, selling over a million units in just 3 days. But players could use a lot more content because the main campaign is 15-20 hours, but it can be upped to 90-120 hours if you play all six characters. But that likely isn’t that much fun to do unless New Game Plus is added to Dead Island 2.
Dead Island 2 is available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Series S, and Microsoft Windows.
