How to get Infected Flesh in Dead Island 2? Infected flesh is an item you can get in the zombie action-adventure sequel to the original Dead Island. The item’s description reads it as rotten flesh that came directly from a zombified monster. Despite being surrounded by ravaging zombies in the game, getting Infected Flesh isn’t easy. Infected flesh is part of a side quest in Dead Island 2 with one of the many eccentric characters you will encounter.

Infected Flesh is Fabrication Parts, items that you can use to craft. The item description reads that Infected Flesh is useful when creating items that attract zombies. However, Infected Flesh is more valuable with a side quest in the game. There’s a character in Dead Island 2 named Francesca, who is an Unhinged artist. She will be located in Beverly Hills; she’ll send you on several quests to find specific items to create her masterpiece. Francesca connects to several sidequests in the game.

Her first quest is the Body Art: The Visionary. She will request you to bring her 10 Infected Flesh. You drop the items in her bucket and speak to her once you drop all 10. 1,000 XP is your reward for completing the quest. After completing Visionary, Francesca will have more Body Art sidequests to send you.

You first must accomplish Main Quest #15: The Giant Slayer before you can do Body Art: Visionary. You will unlock Infected Flesh when you complete Main Quest #15. Gathering 10 Infected Flesh seems simple enough, but it is more difficult than it looks.

How to Get Infected Flesh?

Infected flesh are rare drops from enemies in Dead Island 2. Many walkers can drop the item after being slain, yet the odds of it showing up are slim. It will take you a while to find a walker to drop one Infected Flesh, let alone 10 for Francesca.

Your best strategy is to continue playing through the game as normal and save as much Infected Flesh as you can get. It could take you hours to grind through enough zombies to have enough of the items in one sitting. The following enemies have a chance of dropping Infected Flesh:

  • Walkers
  • Shamblers
  • Spiky Walkers
  • Shocking Walkers
  • Swarm Walkers
  • Grenadier Walkers
  • Incendiary Walkers
  • Firefighter Walkers
  • Caustic-X Walkers
  • Hazmat Walkers
  • Burning Walkers
  • Riot Gear Walkers
  • Hydration Walkers
  • Bursters

Infected flesh can also spawn in specific medical facilities found throughout the map, including CDC’s quarantine facilities, hospitals, and medical centers.
