Hideo Kojima has shed some light on the mysterious logo for his new studio.
The logo was revealed alongside the new studio late last year. Called Kojima Productions, the studio was formed after the famed Metal Gear Solid creator left Konami. The logo for the newly formed studio showed a skull encased in a helmet. Fans immediately took to photoshop and began to speculate about the meaning. But today, Hideo himself took to Twitter to reveal that the helmet is actually called Ludens, and sits on top of a set of highly technological armor. He specifically called the armor the “extra-vehicular activity suit or EVA.
He went on to say that the studio would “deliver THE NEW PLAY in THE NEW FUTURE with the cutting-edge equipment, technology, & the frontier spirit.” This sounds very vague, but we can’t help but be excited at the very idea of Hideo Kojima creating a new series.
The suit itself looks like something that would fit in the world of the Metal Gear Solid series, which seems to hint that the developers new projects may bear similarities to his previous franchises. We don’t know when we’ll next see Kojima, but he could make an appearance at Playstation’s E3 conference given his partnership with them.
The biggest news out of his new studio is the around the world technology tour he recently embarked on with Playstation’s Mark Cerny, in order to see the newest, most cutting edge tech available in video games at the moment.
