Sometimes misspelled as “Mayan Shrine” in Tears of the Kingdom, Mayam Shrine can only be accessed after completing its Shrine Quest. Specifically, adventurers must clear “The North Hyrule Sky Crystal” in order to unlock the Shrine and acquire its rewards. As you might expect, the quest involves retrieving a crystal and returning it to the Shrine’s location. However, this particular challenge of Mayam Shrine is much more challenging due to the distance you must carry the crystal across.

Mayam Shrine is located in the North Hyrule Sky Archipelago, Sky Islands floating in the Great Hyrule Forest Sky. You can easily access the area by using the Thyphlo Ruins Skyview Tower. Your destination is the crooked x-shaped isle, where the Shrine sits on the west side. After starting “The North Hyrule Sky Crystal,” a beam of light will point you in the direction of the Shrine’s crystal.

Not only is the green crystal of Mayam Shrine in TotK on a different island, but it’s also attached to a Flux Construct. Using the launcher device on the same island as the Shrine, propel Link toward the large floating arena south. There, you will face the Guardian of North Hyrule Sky Archipelago—Flux Construct I.

If you’ve faced a Flux Construct before, then taking down this massive mechanical monster should be manageable. However, if this is your first time, note that you should always focus on attacking the block that’s different from the rest. The block should have a green glow about it compared to the grayish stone blocks of the Construct’s body. Once defeated, you can retrieve the crystal.

For most, defeating Flux Construct I during “The North Hyrule Sky Crystal” will be the easier portion of the Shrine Quest. The harder main challenge is taking the crystal back to Mayam Shrine across the open sky. Fortunately, you have all the materials you need on the north side of the Construct’s island. The area will provide you with a platform and plenty of Rockets to propel you back to the Shrine.

Nonetheless, figuring out the most effective way to assemble a decent floating vehicle back to Mayam Shrine in TotK is easier said than done. We recommend using any spare Fans or Steering Sticks you have in your inventory to make the vehicle more “steerable.” If your device doesn’t make it to your destination, you can always glide to the isle first. Once Link arrives, use his Ultrahand to pull over the vehicle or the crystal onto solid ground.

Finally, take the crystal to Mayam Shrine in The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom to complete “The North Hyrule Sky Crystal.” Open the Shrine to access Rauru’s Blessing, where you’ll find a Treasure Chest with a Magic Rod. At the end of the area, you’ll receive a Light of Blessing for your effort.
