Season of the Deep has added a slew of new Taken Weapons into Destiny 2. One of which includes a brand new Strand Shotgun called Until Its Return. Players have been eagerly awaiting a Strand Shotgun for their builds, and making it a Taken Weapon is like adding icing on the cake. So with that in mind, it’s time to discuss how to get the Until Its Return Shotgun and what the God Roll for it is in Destiny 2.

To obtain the Until Its Return Shotgun, Guardians must venture into the new Season of the Deep activities, Salvage, and Deep Dive. You’ll have a slight chance of earning one after defeating the final boss of each activity. You can also earn one by decrypting Deep Engrams at the Sonar Station in the Helm. Securing the first one is a little tricky, as you’ll need a little RNG as the drop rate for it is low. However, obtaining further copies is much easier after the first one.

Using Deep Engrams, and some Glimmer, you can directly purchase the gun from the Sonar Station after you earn it once. Either way, you’ll need to play the new Seasonal activities until the weapon eventually drops for you.

Unfortunately, the Until Its Return Shotgun doesn’t have a great perk pool for PvP activities, with virtually nothing to benefit it for those scenarios. However, it has a fantastic selection for PvE activities. With that said, the God Roll you should be looking for is Overflow and Trench Barrel.

Overflow will overflow the magazine when the user picks up special or heavy ammo (ironic). On the other hand, Trench Barrel will grant a 50% damage increase for three shots after punching an enemy.

This combo is terrific for a melee-focused build like Arc Titans or Hunters, who love nothing but punching enemies. Overflow will bring the magazine all the way up to fourteen when it’s activated, and Trench Barrel will allow the user to deal with the more tanky enemies efficiently.

Overall, this is a great combo that will get the job done in most PvE activities where the user is either on Power or above it. However, for activities where Power Level matters, such as higher-tier Nightfalls or Raids, it isn’t recommended to use a Shotgun in this manner.
