Yesterday afternoon, Ibuki was originally announced to release in May, but less than a day later her release was pushed back to June. She will come out at the same time as the major story mode update. The reason for the delay was listed as “unforeseen delays” on Twitter.

Street Fighter V’s initial months on the market haven’t been as smooth as Capcom hoped. The online modes were incredibly difficult to use at launch and the online storefront wasn’t functional. When DLC characters began to come out, the broken storefront caused Capcom to let players use the new fighters for free until the shop was fixed. But the storefront remains down, but will be fixed once microtransactions can be added.

The agile ninja warrior was first introduced in Street Fighter III: A New Generation, and then made the transition to Street Fighter IV. Now, she’s coming to the newest iteration in the series with her full move set intact and a new costume to boot.

The announcement trailer shows off her various combos and special moves. She still relies heavily on projectiles, grabs, and air juggles. But her quick moves and unique gameplay bring more diversity to the game’s roster.

Street Fighter V will be at EVO in July.
