This article is over 2 years old and may contain outdated information.

You can build your custom gun by using your Insured Weapon Slots in DMZ. However, these slots are not all available at the beginning, and you need to unlock them. The first slot is all for you to build your gun, but the second and third Insured Weapon Slots in DMZ are all unlocked by completing some challenges in Season 4. Here in this guide, we’ll show you how to unlock these slots in the DMZ to always have your custom weaponry with you.

How To Unlock the Second Insured Weapon Slot in DMZ

To unlock the second Insured Weapon Slot in DMZ, you need to extract the following:

  • 3 IFAKs
  • 1 AFAK
  • 1 enemy operator weapon

The IFAK is something you can easily find in any of the hospitals on DMZ maps. The same thing goes for the AFAKs, which you can find randomly in buildings or in hospitals. However, the final item that you need to extract is an enemy player’s weapon, which makes things quite challenging.

The best way of finding an enemy player is to pick a Hunt Contract, which is available on every DMZ map. Alternatively, you can play the Ashika Island and rush towards the spawn locations to fight the other online players. Once you killed one, pick their weapon and exfil with it to checkmark your last objective.

How To Unlock the Third Insured Weapon Slot in DMZ

To unlock the third Insured Weapon Slot in DMZ, you need to exfil with all the following:

  • 5 GPUs
  • 10 Gold Bars
  • 8 Golden Skeletons

The items you must find to unlock the third slot are rare. However, here we can help you find them faster with some clues.

To find a GPU, you need to look inside the computers in random buildings. Some locations offer a higher chance of finding GPUs, like Hafid Port and the Quarry section of the DMZ Al-Mazrah map. Or you can unlock some locked POIs and bags to find this item. There are no 100% guaranteed locations for finding this item, but some locked places, like the Weapon’s Locker in Tsuki Castle, have a higher chance of giving you a GPU.

As for the Gold Bars, you can find them far more easily in Strongholds and locked areas on the map. But finding the Golden Skeleton, however, is a bit tricky. One of the best ways of finding this item is to eliminate and loot the enemy commanders like the Juggernaut, Pyro, Scavenger, or Bombmaker. This item also spawns in some random locations within the DMZ maps and requires you to spend some time looting different POIs and areas.

How To Speed Up Weapon Recovery Time Cooldowns in DMZ

You can deposit cash in the Dead Drops to lower the cooldown timer for your first, second, or third Insured Weapon Slots. The Dead Drops can be found in any of the DMZ maps, and you can open them with the interaction button to put some cash inside. Putting nearly 10K in the Dead Drops will drop your cooldown time significantly, and you’ll be able to use your lost Insured Weapon in the next match.
