With a new mainline entry of the Final Fantasy series here, many people wonder if it follows the tradition of several things in the franchise. While this new title has moved away from the classic turn-based combat and some narrative elements, many ask if it contains more than one ending. As you may or may not know, several games of the series have different endings depending on the choices you make. This time, Naoki Yoshida and his team changed things regarding the conclusion of the story. Here’s what you need to know about multiple endings in Final Fantasy 16.
Final Fantasy 16 Multiple Endings Explained
The short answer is no. Final Fantasy 16 does not feature multiple endings. Depending on the type of player you are, this might be good or bad for you. In the end, since this is an RPG, gamers would expect it to have choices and different endings. While many mainline entries feature multiple endings, such as Final Fantasy IV, V, VI, IX, X-2, and many more, this game doesn’t. Still, we believe having one ending is great as the developers can focus on one story point to end it on a high note. Yet, it is strange to see the team behind the game not including multiple endings, given how FFXIV features a few narrative choices.
New Game Plus Offers Replayability
Even without multiple endings, Final Fantasy 16 has a lot of replayability thanks to the New Game Plus mode that came at launch. Anyone who finishes the game at least once will unlock Final Fantasy mode, which changes things considerably. Enemies are tougher, come in higher numbers, and mechanics change to make the New Game Plus mode more fun. While the game has only one ending, that shouldn’t be a reason to put it down as soon as you finish it. There are many more things to do after you finish your first adventure.
And now that you know about Final Fantasy 16 and its multiple endings, it is time to explore Valisthea and do everything the game has. If you want to focus on the story, you’ll spend around 35 hours. Yet, for those who want to get the Platinum trophy, there are a lot of activities. From hunts to crafting, there’s something for every type of player. So, don’t be afraid to check every nook and cranny of this fantastic new world Square Enix has created.
