Chris Evans has deactivated his social media accounts and began a sabbatical just before the Fourth of July holiday. Before Chris Evans’ social media break began, he took to Instagram and Twitter to inform his fans about the development, as mentioned. In a screenshot of the Twitter post shared by a fan, Evans noted that he was treating himself to a summer with less screen time. He then noted that he was leaving the social media apps, after which he wrote, “See you soon! Much love!”
Evans’ Twitter fans weren’t the only ones to get an explanation from the actor. He also took to Instagram with a more in-depth explanation regarding his little break. The Hollywood icon reposted a post from Taron Egerton, who also recently announced his social media leave. According to screenshots, Egerton noted that he was leaving social media as a commitment to himself. He explained that it was difficult to break away from a cycle he considered addictive. The Rocketman star added that he spent so much time on social media that he now felt his ability to read books, watch movies, and relate with people was eroding.
Overall, Egerton said he believed he could do so much more, but Instragam was one of the major barriers to getting there. In conclusion, while he felt pleased about reading lovely comments, Egerton said he wanted to stay away from reading strangers’ thoughts. Evans couldn’t agree more. Alongside the repost, the Captain America star wrote, “Couldn’t have said it better myself!!! Count me in. Gonna take a little break. Much love, everyone!”
