It’s finally happening — J-Hope’s debut solo album, Jack In The Box, is getting a physical version dubbed the HOPE Edition. On July 16, BTS‘ agency, BIGHIT MUSIC, announced the record will hit shelves on Aug. 18. The announcement comes one year after Jack In The Box originally dropped in July 2022. Until now, you could only enjoy the album by streaming it online. While fans didn’t mind, they also wished it would get a physical release since K-pop albums always come with exclusive merch. Now, their dreams are officially coming true. If you’re as excited as we are, here’s what to know about the album before it drops.

According to a press release by BIGHIT MUSIC, the physical version will feature all 10 of the original record’s songs. That includes J-Hope’s hit singles like “MORE” and “Arson.” The new album will also have three live recordings from J-Hope’s 2022 Lollapalooza concert. At the time, the rapper made history by becoming the first Korean artist to star in a major U.S. music festival. The anticipation surrounding J-Hope’s performance was so huge online that BTS’ fans — known as ARMY — dubbed it “Hobipalooza.” One year after the event, fans can relive J-Hope’s performance by streaming the physical version of Jack In The Box.
Apart from live recordings, the new album will feature two instrumental tracks. BIGHIT MUSIC didn’t reveal which songs will get instrumental versions, but it could be “MORE” and “Arson.” When fans unwrap Jack In The Box, they’ll also receive the following merch: photobook, lyric book, paper toy, sticker pack, poster, and photocard. Jack In The Box (HOPE Edition) is available to pre-order on various websites like YES24 and MUSICPLANT. However, those who pre-order the album from BTS’ Weverse Shop will get an additional photo card apart from the other merch listed above.
