Oatchi is an adorable dog, introduced for the first time in this game, and is the first companion that is not a Pikmin. Even though he has some skills at the beginning of the game, upgrading them is essential to make him a valuable partner, as they need to be upgraded to match the game’s difficulty level. So let’s look at how to upgrade Oatchi skills in Pikmin 4.

You can upgrade Oatchi skills in Pikmin 4 by speaking to Shepered at the Rescue Command Post. However, most skills require Pup Drive, which you get from various activities in the game. Each skill requires different Pup Drive amounts, which are not refundable once you have used them on a skill upgrade.

There are a variety of ways to obtain Pup Drive within the game. One method is through rescuing Castaways and Leaflings. Castaways can often be found within caves scattered throughout the game world, and rescuing them can reward Pup Drive as a result. Also, defeating Leaflings in Dandori Battles and Challenges can result in Pup Drive being awarded. Finally, the Glow Sap item can cure Leaflings and earn Pup Drive to upgrade Oatchi skills in Pikmin 4.

What are the skills of Oatchi in Pikmin 4?

There are a total of seven skill upgrades available for Oatchi. They are Buff, Doggy-Paddle, Command, Rush, Pluck, Big Chomp, and Heal. From the Buff upgrade that increases Oatchi’s strength to that of the 10 Pikmin to the Doggy-Paddle upgrade that lets Oatchi swim and move faster in water, each upgrade offers a unique advantage to the player.

Additionally, Oatchi’s ability to transport items by swallowing them, bite enemies, and charge at obstacles with the Rush ability make him an asset in various situations. Players can even ride on Oatchi’s back and use the Jump to reach higher terrain. In short, the skills and upgrades of Oatchi in Pikmin 4 add depth and excitement to the game.

These skills and upgrades can be valuable during the player’s travels. With each skill’s unique advantages, Oatchi can be a powerful companion. With the help of Oatchi, players can explore and progress through the game with greater ease and efficiency.
