The Legend of Zelda turns 30 this year, and although the newest game won’t be out in time to attend its own party, Japan has thought of something else to mark the occasion. Three separate concerts will be held around the country in October and December. The first will feature on October 1, 2016, in Kyoto, followed by another in Tokyo on October 16. The final concert comes to Nagoya on December 14, 2016. A certain key figure behind the series is also set to make an appearance at the events, though the identity of this person is (say it with me) a secret to everybody.

A live orchestra conducted by Taizo Takemoto will bring numerous Zelda games to life as footage from those very games is played across a screen. And naturally, the massive celebration that it is, concert goers will have their pick of exclusive Zelda merchandise to open their wallets too. Three kinds of tickets are available for purchase, including the Master Sheet, which grants buyers a bonus of collector’s pins. Sales for these special tickets end on July 5, 2016 (that’s tomorrow as of this writing) at midnight just before the 6th and cost 12,000 Yen. The regular tickets, S and A, will be available until July 11, 2016, that midnight and run 9,000 and 7,500 Yen respectively.

Takemoto has performed and won awards in other countries, including Germany, and has appeared in several Japanese musical productions since then.

Fans may remember the Symphony of the Goddesses concert tour in the U.S., which began in 2012 and returned for a Second Quest in 2013. However, it may surprise some to learn that the Symphony is still ongoing in its third and presumably final run, Master Quest, until early 2017. The schedule of events for the Symphony can be found here, meanwhile, information and tickets for the concert in Japan are this way. Both are rare and once-in-a-lifetime opportunities that Zelda fans will be loathed to miss out on.
