Pokemon Go came first to Australia and New Zealand yesterday. Since then, many people around the world started refreshing their iOS and Android devices eagerly in anticipation. As of earlier today, the United States can join in on the fun.

I just downloaded the game myself, and can say that it seems to be working well. A few connectivity issues occurred, and the app currently uses a lot of battery life. Yet the amount of people flocking to try out the game remains high. A little overload for the servers is expected.

Curiously, Niantic and The Pokemon Company have given almost no notice about the release schedule for Pokemon Go. Niantic has finally tweeted out a brief message along with an ad. Still, they provided no further information as to when the game might be available for other countries. The uncertainty surrounding release may not be great for the game’s debut. Especially as so many people are impatient to try it out.

Pokemon Go is a GPS-based mobile game that brings the feel of being a Pokemon trainer to the real world. You can purchase a wearable device to make the game more easily accessible, without staring at your phone constantly on a walk. Called the Pokemon Go Plus, the device will be $35 and will go on sale later this month.
