The official release date for Ghostrunner 2 has been revealed by publisher 505 Games and fans don’t have long to wait before they run, jump and slash their way through the game’s cyberpunk metropolis. Alongside the release date reveal, was a new trailer that features the cyborg ninja protagonist, Jack, battling against a mysterious AI cult.

505 Games Reveal Ghostrunner 2 Release Date

The release date for Ghostrunner 2 was revealed on the 505 Games X account. The FPP-slasher will officially launch on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Epic Games Store, Steam, and GoG on Oct. 26, 2023. Unfortunately, though, Ghostrunner 2 will not be available on consoles from the previous generation.

Players are able to pre-order the game, which is available in three separate editions, from today. The base edition of the game is the most accessible version, but players can nab a couple of additional weapon skins through physical and digital pre-orders. The Brutal Edition of the game is by far the priciest but offers 48 hours of early access and Ghostrunner 2’s season pass which will contain a new game mode, for some that might be enticing enough to pay the price tag for the Brutal Edition.

Here’s everything that’s included in each edition of Ghostrunner 2:

  • Base Edition (£34.99, Digital and Physical) – Digital and physical preorders get the Traditional Katana Pack including two sword skins and two hand skins
  • Deluxe Edition (£44.99, Digital) – Includes everything in the base edition, along with four additional hand skins, four extra sword skins, and a personalized hand hologram displaying their current username
  • Brutal Edition (£64.99, Digital) – Includes everything in the Deluxe Edition, along with 48 hours of early access starting Tuesday, Oct. 24. Brutal Edition also comes with the Season Pass (worth £14.99, featuring a new Game Mode and four Asset Packs), Animated Skin (Sword/Hand), and Motorcycle Skin.

Ghostrunner 2 is set a year after the events of the original game and will feature refinements to the riveting mechanics that made the first game such an intense, challenging and rewarding experience.

Developer, One More Level, ensures that the game will deliver greater versatility, multiple methods to tackle boss fights, and a new dialogue choice system to build on the lore that was established in the first game.
