Sea of Stars just released but already received quite a lot of good reviews. It is not surprising since the developers took all the best elements of retro RPGs and modernized them with updated features. As a result, you can enjoy the game in the old pixel style but without annoying random encounters or tedious grinding. While the game has one difficulty level, you can change it to your liking. So, read on to learn how to change the game’s difficulty in Sea of Stars.

Sea of Stars has a lot of modern features, including a difficulty level. When you first start your adventure, the game won’t give you the classic difficulty selection. Moreover, such a choice will not appear later. Nevertheless, each player can customize the difficulty of their Sea of Stars however they wish. But for this, they need Relics.

Relics are various items that can affect your gameplay in Sea of Stars. They are divided into two types: Blue and Red. As you can guess, the former makes the game more accessible, while the latter makes it more difficult.

For example, the Amulet of Storytelling, which you get at the beginning, increases your character’s HP by 100% and heals it after every battle. Sequent Flare is also available from the beginning and can help you get used to blocking and parrying. Using them, you can significantly simplify the gameplay at the start. If you want to increase the difficulty level in Sea of Stars, you have to progress in the game.

How To Get Relics in Sea of Stars

You will receive the Relics described above at the beginning of the game. To get other blue and red Relics, you will need to do different activities in Sea of Stars:

  • Help NPCs to earn rewards, including Relics.
  • You can buy Relics from Vendors.
  • You can exchange Rainbow Conch Shells for Relics.
  • You can find Relics in chests.

To use them, you need to open your inventory on the Relics tab and activate them. Some Relics are active by default. Therefore, we recommend checking your stash every time you get a Relic.

That’s all you need to know about how to change Difficulty in Sea of Stars. Collect as many Relics as possible, and you will customize the gameplay to your liking. In the meantime, please take a look at our Sea of Stars achievements and trophy guide.
