Boss fights in Armored Core 6 are one of the main reasons that we’ve got some broken keyboards and controllers around here at The Nerd Stash HQ. This game resembles the FromSoftware’s games‘ difficulty in one of the best ways possible. If you’re playing then you’ll surely agree as you’ve encountered some tough-as-nails boss fights. But which is actually the hardest? Well, here in this post, we’re going rank 5 hardest boss fights in Armored Core 6.
5. Helicopter
When you start the game in Armored Core 6, you’ll learn some basic movement mechanics. Then, you’ll be ready to fight a bunch of low-level enemies. After that, as you’re struggling to stand your ground and learn the gameplay, the game puts you in front of a fighter Helicopter!
This encounter happens when you’re thinking that after the final scan, the mission is over. But do you want to end an assignment without a solid boss fight? No way. It’s actually not so hard to take down the Helicopter boss, after ten times dying to it. The reason that this is one of the hardest boss fights in the Armored Core 6 is simply because you haven’t learned all the techniques to face such a strong opponent. It catches you totally off guard.
4. Ice Worm
Imagine a giant robot that moves like a worm, shooting lasers and rockets. If that isn’t enough, this boss has three phases and even if you manage to escape its rockets, you need to watch everywhere as it moves like the Snake in Nokia 3410. One more thing; it has the ability to go underground and rise back up anytime!
In fact, you’ve got other AI teammates to win this boss fight in Armored Core 6. But well, they just can’t keep up until the end of the fight; meaning that you have to deal with the devil’s final stage yourself. However, you can’t just freely shoot the Ice Worm and cause damage to it. There are only certain times that you see the worm’s head to shoot. And some stagger moments let you lower Ice Worm’s health bar. But if you manage not to hit him hard enough each time that you have the chance, you’ll have to dodge many attacks for another extra round, until you reach a shooting opportunity.
3. Sea Spider
One of the reasons that we put this boss over the Ice Worm, is its movement verticality. The Sea Spider is another giant mech that looks just like a spider. Even if you manage to stagger this enemy with rockets, it still fights back. But one thing that becomes the player’s nightmare, is its energy blasts.
The Sea Spider is capable of doing combo attacks with different weapons, which are with different ammo types. If you get caught with its rockets, you’ll be stunned for a second, and that’s when the energy blasts hit you. However, the Sea Spider does many jumps and vertical movements while shooting; which makes it even harder to shoot the target. Broke an Xbox Series S controller on this one.
2. Balteus
Balteus is the final boss fight in chapter 1 of Armored Core 6. This boss uses a pulse shield to defend itself, which makes it even harder to lower its HP. However, it won’t just let you stand and shoot. It has vertical movements, charged attacks, rockets that follow you everywhere, and energy blasts that’ll stun you.
The only way to deal with this boss is to have a balanced mech using pulse guns. If you take the shield down, you’re good to go. If not, then you’ll be stuck in an unlimited loop of getting destroyed by Balteus! You should also note that you’ll be facing this boss in the first chapter of the game when you haven’t unlocked all the meta weapons yet.
1. Cel 240
And here comes the hardest boss fight of Armored Core 6, the Cel 240. What makes them the hardest, you ask? Simple. The fact that it’s almost impossible to shoot due to its speed. The Cel 240 is one of the Chapter 4 boss fights that messes with your brain through its movement speed and quick attacks. In fact, it moves like a bat in real life, while also shooting rockets and projectiles at you; giving Batman a run for his money.
Now, Cel 240 stops once in a while to recharge, and that’s your chance to shoot it. However, if you get too close, or don’t dodge it at the exact time you should, it’ll attack you with a melee blade that drains a massive amount of your AP. Players should be awarded medals for beating this boss fight on their first try in Armored Core 6.
