In a somewhat sad yet surprisingly well-received news by fans, Alone in the Dark Reboot got delayed until 2024. While many didn’t see it coming, the reason behind the delay is understandable. What’s better is that people looking to play the game are more than happy with the developer’s choice. Through an official post, THQ Nordic and Pieces Interactive have announced the official delay for the reboot of this classic horror game. While it’ll be many months until we can play this title, it’s still on track, and we should be able to play it during next year’s first months.

January 16, 2024, is the new release of Alone in the Dark Reboot after getting delayed. The developer and publisher decided to do this to avoid the game launching in the same month as Alan Wake 2 and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, two big titles launching during the same month. Given how the latter two have been long-anticipated games, it makes sense for the Alone in the Dark Reboot delay. Thankfully, fans took it the right way and agreed with the studio’s decision to postpone the game’s launch.

Given how many titles people have in their backlog, waiting a bit for this game isn’t too bad. Starfield just launched, giving players hundreds of hours until an even bigger RPG arrives. Baldur’s Gate 3 is out on PS5, which means console players will spend hours on that game. Undoubtedly, 2023 has been one of the biggest years for gaming, and everyone should be happy about that. Still, some people are surprised about Alone in the Dark Reboot getting delayed, but now everyone will have time to play other big titles of October. Hopefully, there won’t be any other delays, and we’ll experience this reboot as one of 2024’s first biggest games.

Alone in the Dark will launch on January 16, 2024, on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
