Traveling along thousands of planets, you can find tons of content, from unique ships and quests to valuable resources in Starfield. You can even create an outpost and farm the valuable resources automatically. However, you should complete the Survey Data to get the most out of each planet. Exploring the surface of any location, you can find unique plants, animals, minerals, and more. And although this information may seem useless to you, there are enough NPCs among space systems willing to pay for this data. So we are here to help you and tell you how to get and sell Survey Data in Starfield.
Starfield: Getting Survey Data
To get Survey Data in Starfield, you must survey 100% of a definite planet. To fulfill this requirement, you must scan flora, fauna, minerals, and other essential this planet parts. And if you want to check your progress, you only need to look at the left side of the screen during the scan mode or in the Spacemap mode of this planet. Luckily, you won’t have to explore the entire territory, as all the essential elements of the planet are close to each other.
It is important to note that if this planet is habitable, you also must visit points of interest or cities to complete the Survey Data. However, once you scan a planet 100%, the Survey Data will automatically appear in your inventory, and you can sell it.
Where To Sell Survey Data in Starfield
First of all, it is worth noting that you can sell Survey Data in Starfield in two ways:
- First, visit the NPC Vladimir Sall on Eye Space Station in Jamison Planet.
- On the other hand, you can find Trade Authority in one of the big cities.
While both options can be helpful, they have several differences. First, the Trade Authority prefers the Survey Data of populated planets. They pay low prices for information about uninhabited planets and do not offer a decent price for the information they are interested in. On the other hand, you can quickly find them in many places like New Atlantis or Cydonia. And if that’s what you want, talk to them and open the Notes tab to sell Survey Data.
As for Vladimir Sall, this option is much more profitable as this NPC is happy to buy any Survey Data at a high price. The downside to this option is that you must complete The Old Neighborhood mission and start the Into The Unknown quest before you can visit it. But once you get to The Eye Space Station, talk to him a few times and select the “I’ve got some Survey Data for you” dialogue option.
