Game developer Abrakam has revealed the free-to-play launch details for theirย game,ย Faeria. The Collectible Card Game (CCG) will go F2P on August 24th. Faeria will also be getting a major update which includes the first new single-player content since the game launched in Early Access in March 2016. the update brings the game to version 0.8 and introduces the first part of the expanded single player content. Players will be offered a variety of new AI opponents to fight against, and 20 hours of solid single player content.

โAfter our Kickstarter campaign, we realised that Faeriaย had a lot of potential to grow above being just a niche game, so it was therefore decided that, in addition to building the game for multiple platforms, we would open the gates for everyone to enjoy Faeria, regardless of their wallet size.
When crafting the user experience, we always want to make sure that the F2P journey is enjoyable and money spent in the game isn’t a huge factor in a player’s progression. At the same time, we also need to make sure that a player who spends money is feeling rewarded by their purchase and this is a very fragile balance. Weโve always said that Faeria is easy to learn but hard to master and weโre hoping our move to F2P along with the launch of Version 0.8 will open doors for gamers who havenโt yet been able to make the move to CCGs.โ

Other changes brought by theย updateย include new visual effects, additional languages for the game, a newly designed layout for Mythic cards, and many smaller improvements and optimisations. In addition, Abrakam will be rolling out private alpha testing for the iOS tablet version, the first stage in development for mobile platforms. Further mobile platforms will be announced later this year.
Faeria hopes toย introduce many unique elements above and beyond traditional Collectible Card Games, such asย intricate gameplay aspects to obvious key features such as the unique Living Board concept, where both players shape the board on which cards are played as the game progresses.
