Among the many Generation IX pocket monsters that recently debuted in Pokemon Go is the Pikachu-family Pokemon Pawmi and its evolutions, Pawmo and Pawmot. This Mouse Pokemon begins its initial stage of growth as an Electric-type, while the subsequent stages possess both Electric- and Fighting-type elements. As of September 2023, you can find and catch Pawmi by simply wandering about the wild, which is where we found this pocket monster from Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. However, evolving this Mouse Pokemon from Pawmo to Pawmot in Pokemon Go requires quite a bit of effort, physically speaking.
Pawmo Evolution Requirements in Pokemon Go
First, evolving Pawmi into Pawmo simply requires 25 Candy, a small investment easily obtainable via any excess Rare Candy you have in your inventory. On the other hand, Pawmo’s evolution in Pokemon Go for Pawmot mandates 100 Candy, which isn’t anything new. However, Trainers must also walk 25 km with Pawmo as their Buddy to properly satisfy the evolution’s requirements.
In our case, we have an early morning and late nightly routine of walking a total of 12 km daily, which means achieving Pawmo’s unique evolution in Pokemon Go takes roughly two days. However, not every Trainer has the luxury of time or habit-developing persistence. That is why we mentioned earlier that the process of undertaking how to evolve Pawmo in Pokemon Go will take extensive physical effort.
That said, here’s what we recommend doing for those who have little time for strolls or feel intimidated by walking more than 1,000 steps in one go:
- During break times such as lunch, consider checking the nearby Pokemon within your vicinity in-game. If Pawmi is nearby, go catch it, which will net you Candy and walking progress with your Pawmo Buddy.
- Always have your Pawmo Buddy well-fed to ensure it is actively following you when you complete Field Research Tasks if that’s something you do regularly.
- Instead of thinking you need to clear 25 km as quickly as possible, take the distance in chunks. Walking half a kilometer or less a day might sound insignificant. However, as they say, “time flies,” and soon you’ll be evolving Pawmi into Pawmo in no time in Pokemon Go.
