In Lies of P, you will face relentless waves of enemies that will chip away your health bar rapidly. To heal in Lies of P, you won’t need to search for potions or recipes. Instead, the game relies on a fairly familiar mechanic like in other souls-like games. In Dark Souls, you had Estus Flask, and now, the rare and replenishable healing item is named Pusle Cells. These electrifying charges are your lifeline in this unforgiving world overrun by mad puppets.
How To Get and Use Pulse Cells in Lies of P
After you have chosen your preferred weapon and acquired Monad’s Lamp, your journey will lead you outside the train. This is where you’ll encounter biomechanical monsters. Defeat these foes and proceed to Krat Station. Inside the station, you’ll come across a massive statue with the sign The Grand Exhibition. Approach the statue, and a prompt to investigate will appear. Press the corresponding button on your controller or on your keyboard to receive your first Pulse Cell.
Now that you have the first Pulse Cell, you will be able to use it and heal in Lies of P. Pulse Cell provides three heal charges and each regains a portion of P’s health. To access the Pulse Cell and use it, you need to open your Upper Belt and then select Pulse Cell. This lasts a couple of moments and can be done while in combat, but be aware of any incoming attacks.
If your Pulse Cells run out, there is a way to recharge it. However, you need to deal enough damage upon your enemies for a Pusle Cell to recharge. The Pulse Charge slot on your belt will start filling up with a purple hue. Once it is full, you will have a new Pulse Cell to heal in Lies of P.
As you progress through the story, you will be able to get more Pulse Cells and improve the healing recovery these scarce items provide.
Desperate times call for desperate measures. Lies of P features the Guard Regain mechanic, inspired by FromSoftware’s Bloodborne. When you block enemy attacks, you lose some health, but you can regain it by counterattacking before the Guard Regain state ends. This is just another way to heal in Lies of P and though it is not safe, it offers a unique way to finish off an enemy.
Lies of P is available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC.
