Up Your Difficulty

Now, there’s nothing wrong with playing the game at a lower difficulty while you learn or if you just want to have fun, but raising the difficulty is beneficial. At higher difficulty levels, you’ll earn more money and farm XP fast in Payday 3.

That said, there’s the time sink to consider. Can you realistically complete an Overkill heist in a reliable amount of time to make farming XP worthwhile? If not, then you may be better off running the same heist multiple times in a row at a lower difficulty instead.

Play With a Team

You might find yourself flying solo on occasion, and that’s okay. But if you team up with other heists, either friends or pub players, then you’ll earn a nice XP bonus that does make a difference. It’ll help you finish heists quicker and level up faster, so consider jumping online for your next heist.

Allocate Skill Points

As you level up and complete challenges, you’ll unlock skill points to flesh out your build and playstyle. You’ll want to shop around. There are countless skills available in Payday 3, and some of them even increase the amount of XP you earn per heist. In the early stages, consider investing points into such skills to maximize XP gain.

Complete Challenges

Speaking of tackling challenges, there are numerous in the game right now. You’ll earn additional benefits by taking hostages, completing heists in stealth, and all other manner of unique challenges that flesh out the gameplay and mix things up. Do not ignore these, as they can help you level up fast.
