This article is over 2 years old and may contain outdated information.

Three years after the release of Genshin Impact, many players complained about the Daily Commissions system. According to the Travelers, it was repetitive, tiring, and even tedious, even though each nation had different quests. That’s why HoYoverse changed this system once Version 4.1 of Genshin Impact arrived. From this update, players can now choose from more options to earn daily Primogems and Adventure EXP. To achieve this, you’ll need Encounter Points in Genshin Impact, and here, we’ll tell you how this new system works.

Fortunately for players, performing Daily Commissions is no longer necessary with the Encounter Point mechanic. By doing different activities, players can get Encounter Points in Genshin Impact to exchange for Daily Rewards from the Adventurer Guild and, in turn, progress their Battle Pass. Encounter Points will also allow users to focus on exploration or completing quests. Yet, you can only have a maximum of Daily Commissions and Encounter Points Stages combined.

The following activities will earn you Encounter Points in Genshin Impact:

  • Completing Archon, Story, and World Quests
  • Collecting special items:
    • Crimson Agates, Lumenspar
    • Plumes of Purifying Light
    • Oculi
  • Opening chests
  • Participating in the events

It is important to note that these Encounter Points aren’t handed out as freebies. You’ll have to open several chests or participate in an event for some time. Still, this beats the previous system and makes exploration for players more rewarding.

How to Unlock Encounter Points in Genshin Impact

To unlock Encounter Points in Genshin Impact, you must be at least Adventure Rank 35 and have completed the Archon Quest Chapter 2 Act 3: Omnipresence Over Mortals. If you meet the requirements, it will appear in your Adventurers Handbook. Below your Daily Commissions will be the Encounter Points Stage Rewards section. This section will show how many stages you have completed, and if you have four of them, you can exchange them in the Adventurers Guild.

Before, players had to complete four randomized quests, and at the end, they could exchange them with Katheryne for daily rewards. The user could decide to do the quests in a specific or randomized region, and these quests changed after the server’s daily reset. The new system in place makes this daily grind much more dynamic.

The Encounter Points system is something Genshin Impact fans have been asking for years after Honkai Star Rail’s release. While exploring Teyvat isn’t bad, a bit of variety never hurts, especially after protecting the balloon for the 100th time. Now, Travelers worldwide can choose their favorite activities to earn those coveted Primogems. So, don’t forget to unlock this new system and start grinding to your heart’s content.
