One of the buzz worthy new features in Pokemon GO, Routes, has been opened up for collaboration with way more players now that the minimum level for Route creation has been dropped to 40. Routes are very fresh in Pokemon GO and developer Niantic is still clearly working out some kinks, but this latest move will definitely result in Routes being a lot more widespread throughout the world.
More Routes Coming to Pokemon GO
There was a lot of excitement back in July when Niantic first debuted the Routes feature in Pokemon GO. Since the debut of the popular mobile game back in 2016, there haven’t been many new features introduced that felt like they could really change the overall feel of the game, but Routes seemed to many players like it could be just that. Sadly, the reception among many fans since the implementation of the new feature hasn’t been so positive, but the recent expansion of the feature could be a signal that things are changing.
This follows months of the Route creation feature only being available to a select number of players via invite only. Level 40 still locks a lot of players out of access to Route creation, and it seems unlikely that Niantic will lower that minimum anytime soon considering the minimum level for PokeStop creation isn’t much lower. Regardless, there will still be a significant increase in players with access to this feature now, which over time will certainly make Routes feel more tangible within Pokemon GO, since up until this point they’ve felt a little scarce for many players, especially those not in major cities.
Players are incentivized to follow Routes to find uncommon Pokemon, acquire rare items, and especially to collect Zygarde cells, which can only be found on Routes. The idea of certain things being exclusive to Routes is very likely an idea Niantic will be expanding in the future, so players should get used to Routes because it seems like they’re here to stay.
