Activision has released a new teaser for Modern Warfare 3 Multiplayer, showcasing how the new attachment system works in the new game. MW3’s Multiplayer mode will feature a very similar gunsmith system to the current title; however, it’ll add the Aftermarket. This new gun customization add-on works pretty much like changing the receiver of your weapon in MW2, but it won’t turn a Kastov 762 into a 545 for example. Let’s dive into details and see how the Aftermarket works in Modern Warfare 3 Multiplayer.

What Is The Aftermarket in Modern Warfare 3 Multiplayer

The Aftermarket parts are the extra pieces that you can attach to your weapon. For example, in the Modern Warfare 3 teaser, we see how the players can change the Renetti Pistol to a fully functional SMG. This happens by adding the Jack Ferocity Aftermarket part to the pistol, which will then change the overall look and gameplay of your weapon.

Now while the new addition to MW3 Multiplayer surely does seem nice, it isn’t as innovative upon deeper inspection. In fact, this looks to be a new name for adding a sixth attachment for weapons. For instance, you can use this on the Uzi weapon to make it Akimbo, while we already have Akimbo as an attachment in MW2 and Warzone 2 for many weapons.

The Aftermarket will be a new method of changing guns to something different than what they used to be. Transforming the SMGs into ARs, or Marksman Rifles into Sniper Rifles. As the developers say, in order to achieve these parts, you would need to max out a weapon, and then complete its challenge to get the item.

It’s presumed that after a few weeks and the beginning of each Season, the developers may add new Aftermarket parts for certain weapons. This will count new challenges, and the players may be able to obtain them by progressing through Battle Pass or seasonal events. However, if an Aftermarket part gets to be on the store for paid bundles only, then it’ll become a big concern for the Call of Duty community.
