The new Class Overhaul update breathed new life into the horde-shooter title Warhammer 40K: Darktide. Considering the update’s biggest draw is the class overhaul, you might wonder if there are changes to the leveling or progress system as well. There are, indeed, so here we’ll explain everything you need to know about the Warhammer 40K: Darktide max level after the major update.

Warhammer 40K: Darktide Max Level Cap, Answered

The highest or max level you can reach for all four classes in Warhammer 40K: Darktide is Level 30. In-game, your character level is also known as the Trust Level. This level cap applies for both before and after the October 10, 2023, Class Overhaul update. For anyone who has reached Level 30 before the Class Overhaul update, your progress will not be reset. However, do keep in mind that your Talents are, so do not forget to re-spend the Talent Points before heading down to Tertium.

For every level you gain, you will get 1 Talent Point. These points are used to unlock various skills at each character’s Talent Tree. When you reach the max Level 30 in Darktide, you should have 30 Talent Points available to be spent. According to Fatshark, you should be able to reach the end of a skill tree after spending 20 points. The rest of the points can be used to unlock additional skills from other trees.

The Talent Points are not shared which means you need to level up all four classes separately. Darktide max level and progress system works similarly to Fatshark’s previous horde shooter-slash-slasher game, Vermintide 2.

Raising your Trust Level to max in Warhammer 40K: Darktide also lets you unlock new items and vendors in the Mourningstar hub area. Below is the general outline of the things and features you will unlock with each level:

  • Trust Level 1: Sedition and Uprising difficulty.
  • Trust Level 2: Malice difficulty and Armory Exchange cosmetics vendor.
  • Trust Level 5: Feat unlock.
  • Trust Level 6: Heresy difficulty and Tech Priest equipment upgrade vendor.
  • Trust Level 8: Curio slot unlock.
  • Trust Level 10: Feat unlock.
  • Trust Level 11: Requisitiorium weapon and curio vendor.
  • Trust Level 12: Damnation max difficulty level in Darktide.
  • Trust Level 15: Feat unlock.
  • Trust Level 16: Curio slot unlock.
  • Trust Level 20: Feat unlock.
  • Trust Level 24: Curio slot unlock.
  • Trust Level 25: Feat unlock.
  • Trust Level 30: Feat unlock.
