How To Get Arboliva in Pokemon Go

Is it just me, or is this olive tree watching me?

This article is over 2 years old and may contain outdated information.

The ever-expanding Pokédex does not give trainers to rest, pushing them to go hunting every day. But now you need to harvest to find all the themed pocket monsters. Timed to everyone’s favorite Halloween, the Harvest Festival event invited a new family of pocket monsters into the game world. The funny and skittish Olive Pokemon named Smoliv, and its two subsequent evolutions form, Dolliv and Arboliva, are Generation 9 Pokemon that are finally debuting in Pokemon Go. And luckily, you can get all three in just a couple of hours of playing the game.

Pokemon Go: Getting Smoliv, Dolliv, and Arboliva

Well, no matter who from the olive family you want, you must start with Smoliv. Luckily, you can encounter tons of these Pokemon in the wild or as rewards from Field Research Tasks during the Harvest Festival. This event will last from October 12 to 17, 2023, so hurry. This pocket monster does not have a preferred habitat or regional restrictions, but you may encounter it more often during Sunny, Clear, or Partially Cloudy weather.

Once you have caught several Smoliv and chosen the best one, it is time to move on to evolution. You must collect only 25 Smoliv Candy to evolve it into Dolliv and another 100 Smoliv Candy to get Arboliva in Pokemon Go. The good news is that you don’t need to meet any other conditions. Just 125 Candy and you will add all three new Pokemon of the Paldea region to your Pokédex.

Unfortunately, Dolliv and Arboliva are not in the wild or raid gyms, at least not yet. In addition, we do not know how soon they will return to the game world again after the end of the Harvest Festival. So, if you missed this event, you should look for a player willing to give you these Pokemon using trading mechanics.

Pokemon Go: Arboliva Weaknesses & Movesets

As a Grass and Normal Pokemon, Arboliva is weak against Ice, Fire, Flying, Poison, Fighting, and Bug-type attacks. On the other hand, Ground, Water, Grass, and Electric-type attacks only deal about half of the maximum damage to Arboliva. The best opponent for this Pokemon is Ghost-type Pokemon, as this type’s attacks are almost useless against Arboliva. And the Ghost Pokemon themselves receive colossal damage from this olive tree.

Remembering Arboliva’s abilities, maybe you want to know its Fast and Charge Attacks. Of course, this Pokemon’s stats are relatively weak for battle in leagues, but it can show good results against suitable Pokemon in raid gyms or during some themed PVP battles.

Fast Attacks

  • Magical Leaf
  • Razor Leaf
  • Tackle

Charged Attacks

  • Earth Power
  • Energy Ball
  • Seed Bomb

To summarize, here’s how you can get Arboliva in Pokemon Go:

  • You must catch Smoliv and spend 125 Smoliv Candy to evolve it into Dolliv and Arboliva.
  • You don’t need to fulfill any other requirements to evolve.
  • These Pokemon are available during the Harvest Festival and will likely return in the future.
  • You can also get these pocket monsters through trading.
