Marvel is bringing a new level of terror to the Alien Universe with next year’s Alien: Black, White & Blood. This four-issue series harkens back to Marvel’s Black, White & Red line that ramped up the shock and violence, all in three colors. Now, the Xenomorphs take center stage as the series explores new depths of fear in the classic franchise. The debut issue features three chest-bursting tales of horror and fun. Plus, it features the beginning of a narrative that will run through all four Marvel issues.

Alien: Black, White & Blood kicks off in February with a debut issue jam-packed with ultra-violent tales. Kicking things off is a tale from Collin Kelly and Jackson Lanzing alongside artist Michael Dowling. Titled “Utopia,” this Alien story will spread across all four issues of the anthology.

Meanwhile, writer Ryan Cady and Marvel newbie Devmalya Pramanik bring “Maternal Instincts” to the issue. This tale follows the sole survivor of a Xenomorph attack, a small child. Her only chance of survival on the deep space vessel is the AI computer unit guiding and comforting her. Though, if Alien is anything to learn from, can she trust the computer? Finally, Stephanie Phillips and Marcelo Ferreira bring some guts and glory with “The Hunt.” Xenomorphs are the prized target in a sick game to hunt down the galaxy’s deadliest species.

Black, White & Red

Marvel’s Black, White & Red line became popular among fans. The comics under the banner bring together a rotating cast of creators to tell stories in certain Universes. Or it focused on a specific character like Wolverine or Darth Vader. Plus, the art for these issues only utilized the color palette of black, white, and red. Although, perhaps Alien: Black, White & Blood will incorporate green somehow…seeing as the Xenomorphs are made of green blood.

Alien: Black, White & Blood #1 is out on February 7.
