Spider-Man 2 has a long story, and there may be times when you repeat missions because you failed the objective. You might even reload from an old save only to realize you loaded further back than you thought. Even if there were a New Game Plus option, you would still watch the same story repeatedly.

Without a reliable option to skip cutscenes, it’s easy to burn out if you play frequently. If you know how to skip cutscenes in Spider-Man 2, you can jump straight into the action. It also cuts down on repeating the same scenes and annoying yourself with the dialogue. Fortunately, it’s easy to skip cutscenes if you know what to do.

Whenever a cutscene of any kind takes place, you can pause the game with the Start button. Select the Skip Cinematic option just under Settings, and you will get a warning notice about skipping ahead. Confirm you want to skip to go ahead or cancel out if you aren’t sure. Once you choose to skip, the game puts you at the first playable opportunity.

Skip Cinematic only applies to cutscenes; there is no option to skip through missions or battle sequences. Even if the current scene feels like something you should skip, the option won’t show if it’s not a cutscene. This means if you fail a battle sequence or get a Game Over due to poor timing, you must keep playing through them.

If you feel like you might skip over something important, you can save your game before skipping. This prevents you from replaying the same mission from the beginning and lets you start closer to the correct moment. You cannot take back your decision to skip unless you reload from an earlier save.

It’s helpful to make multiple saves if you are worried about missing a scene or want to watch it later. Thankfully, there is no missable content in Spider-Man 2, and the story is linear. You should easily remember which section you missed before skipping cutscenes. Otherwise, reload from an earlier save and hope for the best.

If it’s your first time playing Spider-Man 2, skipping cutscenes isn’t recommended. You should watch all the scenes to make sure you fully understand what’s going on. But if you have failed the same mission multiple times, it’s best to skip the cutscenes you have seen already. It cuts down on burnout and lets you get back to the fun right away.
