Duriel is a level 100 boss in Diablo 4. Therefore, you have to reach World Tier 4 before you can meet him. Then you have to farm Shards of Agony and Mucus-Slick Eggs, which is, of course, is not easy to do.
Shards of Agony can only be obtained by defeating Grigoire, The Galvanic Saint. However, although this is a guaranteed drop, it can only be received by the player who summoned the boss in World Tier 4. Also, to summon it, you must farm Living Steel in Living Steel chests during Helltide events.
As for the Mucus-Slick Egg, this one also drops from the boss. But now you need to defeat Echo of Varshan in World Tier 4. You again need to collect summoning materials, namely Malignant Hearts, Trembling Hands, Blackened Femurs, and Gurgling Heads.
Even though you need only 2 Shards of Agony and 2 Mucus-Slick Eggs to summon Echo of Duriel in Diablo 4, we recommend spending more time farming them. For each boss summon, you will need to use 2 Shards and Eggs. And since Duriel is challenging to defeat on the first try, you better stock up on Shards of Agony and Mucus-Slick Eggs.
When you’re ready, head to the Gaping Crevasse dungeon. There, you will find an altar to summon the boss. Use the collected materials, and you will come face to face with Echo of Duriel in Diablo 4.
How To Beat Echo of Duriel
Echo of Duriel is not only the hardest boss but also the most toxic. Almost all of his attacks will inflict poison on you. Therefore, if you do not want to die after the first attacks of the boss, you need to increase your poison resistance. Use everything you can for this, including equipment with the appropriate stat and Potions. Then follow these tips to beat Echo of Duriel in Diablo 4:
- At the beginning of the battle, two Pangs of Duriel will appear on the field. They don’t have much Health, but you shouldn’t get hit. After their death, the Lord of Pain himself will appear.
- Don’t stand in front of him, as he does a ton of damage with his pincers. Also, he can try to eat you, causing huge damage.
- When you see Duriel open his huge mouth, dodge to the side as he is about to spit out a stream of poison.
- During the battle, he will summon smaller enemies that can create problems for you, so if you have AoE attacks in your arsenal, now is the time to use them.
- Finally, Duriel can summon Pangs of Duriel in craters. Even though they can’t walk, they can shoot poison at you, so it’s best to deal with them as quickly as possible.
If your level isn’t high enough, Echo of Duriel will most likely kill you on your first try. However, knowing his attack pattern will help you beat him eventually, so don’t give up and keep farming loot and Legendary weapons if you need strength. We also recommend that you team up with several players to increase your chances of winning.
Of course, summoning and defeating Echo of Duriel in Diablo 4 is very difficult and time-consuming. However, since it can drop Uber Unique Items, it is worth all your effort.
