The Rust 2023 Halloween Update adds many new things, including the Trick or Treat event. Of course, the essential part of this event is the Trick or Treat, what’s Halloween without candy? Apart from collecting candy, you can also create a Frankenstein pet in Rust, collect Halloween Loot Bags, or purchase special Halloween items like the Dracula Mask in the Item Shop. Here are the patch notes for all the things added to Rust with this Halloween Event.
Trick or Treat Event
One of the new additions to the game this Rust Halloween Event is Trick or Treat. In this event, every Rust day, you’ll hear music and you’ll see the “Trick or Treat Starts in: …” notification on your screen.
When this countdown is over, the outside of your base will be filled with candy, and the more crowded your neighborhood and base are, the more candy will spawn around. This event lasts 3 minutes and 1st place wins 3 Medium Loot Bags, 2nd place wins 1 Medium Loot Bag, and 3rd place wins 1 Small Loot Bag.
If you want to be the winner of this Trick or Treat competition, you should always be ready to collect candy and always have plenty of Pumpkin Buckets and Scarecrow Wraps in your base. These items can be obtained from Small Loot Bags during the Rust 2023 Halloween Update. The Pumpkin Bucket will help you collect candy faster and the Scarecrow Wrap will help you see the candy easier.
Halloween Loot Bags
You can turn the candies you collect into Small Loot Bags, Medium Loot Bags, and Large Loot Bags in Rust 2023 Halloween Update. Large Loot Bag contains the rarest items. In Rust, you can collect 10 Small or Medium Loot Bags and upgrade them to the next tier.

Frankenstein Pet
With the Rust 2023 Halloween Update, Frankenstein Table and Frankenstein are back. During this event, Mummy and Scarecrow NPCs will roam around in Rust maps.
By killing these NPCs, you can obtain various useful items such as SAR Body, F1 Grenades, or Fuse. However, these NPCs will also provide you with the Head, Torso, and Legs you need to create Frankenstein.
Portals
You can also find Blue Portals throughout the Rust 2023 Halloween Update. When you enter these portals, you will find yourself in a cave system, where there are Scarecrow NPCs to kill and loot to collect. Through this portal, you can find Normal Crates and Military Crates in the cave system you enter.
