Marvel’s Spider-Man games are famous for their variety of boss fights. Just like in Marvel Comics, our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is always tracked by various groups and villains; some of them want to kill Spider-Man because he’s interrupting their illegal business, and the others have a personal problem with this hero. There are also guys like Kraven The Hunter who just want to hunt, and Spider-Man seems to be a good rival to fight against. Insomniac Games has done an amazing job of bringing many of these Spider-Man fights with notable villains to their video games in an epic way. Here, we will judge which Spidey battle excited us most to keep the controller at hand and fight until the end.

10. Electro And Vulture

The Vulture and Electro

While Rhino and Scorpion are probably the worst teammates in the villains department, Electro and Vulture top the spot for doing teamwork against Spider-Man. Each Sinister Six member is annoying on a certain level in Marvel’s Spider-Man, but adding the electricity freak and the flying bird man is just hard to fight against. Every time you start doing a combo on one, the other interrupts, and this loop goes on until you take down one of them.

This boss fight in Marvel’s Spider-Man game is, in fact, one of the most fun to play in the series. But the point remains the same: it’s not so hard to deal with. Once you take a villain down, the other one isn’t just as powerful to stand a chance against our friendly neighborhood hero.

9. Sandman

In one phrase, what a way to start a game! The Sandman boss fight is one of the best in Marvel’s Spider-Man games due to having some of the most pleasing sceneries and visuals. On the gameplay side, its cinematic scenes make you wonder whether you could continue this fight all day. But the difficulty? It’s not so hard to pour some water on the sand.

However, Sandman really does make you try your best when it comes to dodging attacks and fighting off against dozens of sand creatures. This is the first boss fight of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, and it’s one of the most epic battles that Earth-1048’s Spider-Man has ever had.

8. Tombstone

Tombstone

Tombstone is one of the most formidable foes you’ll fight against in Marvel’s Spider-Man game. The drug lord is so powerful that Peter needs to use an antidote against him just so he can fight this Thanos-looking boss. However, even after you use the drug on him, Tombstone still fights back with full power, wielding a firey chain.

The thing that makes Tombstone’s boss fight a unique experience is that he does many follow-up attacks. He doesn’t tire of your Spidey gadgets and cool dodges and manages to hit you as much as he can. In the end, however, Tombstone becomes a friend to the Spider.

7. Prowler

Those who have seen the Into The Spider-Verse animation movie know Prowler really well. But you don’t get the chance to fight against this villain yourself in a movie, right? This is while fighting the Prowler in Miles Morales: Spider-Man game is a hell of a pain.

His cloaking ability is one of the many reasons that makes fighting Prowler one of the hardest. And after you take him down once, he’ll start spawning holograms, making you fight more than one Prowler at the same time.

6. Mr. Negative

Mr. Negative

Mr. Negative’s boss fight in Marvel’s Spider-Man 1 game was a good one. The scenes where Peter fights Martin Li on the metro are amazing to watch. However, it’s not a hard boss to deal with in the first game, while in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Li really makes it personal with Miles Morales.

In fact, this boss fight is amazing in the gameplay and story. Li is the one responsible for Miles’ father, and the young Spider-Man is seeking this villain all game long. The Negative boss wields a sword this time, more powerful than what you saw from him in the first game.

5. Kraven The Hunter

Of course, Kraven The Hunter is the star of the villain show until half of the Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 game story. This supervillain is a man who seeks other powerful beings to hunt them. He comes to NY, searching for the previous game’s villains, and kills many of them. However, when Spider-Man gets Venom powers, things change.

Kraven has one of the hardest boss fights in the game when you fight him as the Venomous Peter Parker Spider-Man. He’s got projectile attacks, close-range grapples, and heavy hits. And to make things worse, he calls some robot dogs that’ll jam your abilities if you don’t destroy them first.

4. Doc Oc

Otto Octavius is a solid character in Marvel’s Spider-Man games. However, after he changes to a dark man who wants revenge on Osborn, he becomes one of the hardest villains that Spider-Man has ever fought against. After dealing with Scorpion, Rhino, Vulture, Electro, and Mr. Negative, Peter goes after Doc Oc. But even Peter knows how strong Doc Oc has become and designs a new suit to stand a chance against the octopus villain.

The final boss of Marvel’s Spider-Man game has many phases, and Doc Oc makes sure each one of them is hard as hell for the players. He has grapple attacks and heavy hits, and some of his moves are so unpredictable to dodge. The best you can do is to shoot webs and throw stuff at him. The final fight on Oscorp Tower’s walls is one of the most epic scenes in all of Marvel’s Spider-Man games.

3. Peter Parker

That sounds right; Peter Parker loses his mind after he gets the Venom symbiote and bonds with it. The alien orders him, and Pete listens as he suffers from all the pain he’s been through. However, one man who can stop this madness is the young Spider-Man.

As Miles Morales, you have to take down Peter Parker. And the most amazing part about this fight is that Peter uses all of the powers you used while you played as him in the game! With that in mind, you know how powerful he is and what kind of abilities he might use against you. But Pete nearly deflects all of your attacks and parries many of your combos even when he’s stunned.

2. The Tinkerer

This boss fight in Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales is unfair in the game. The Tinkerer is the final villain you fight in this game and she’s got many weapons to fight you with in her arsenal. In the first phase, you can take her down easily by dodging attacks and throwing stuff at her. But from the second phase, the real battle begins.

The Tinkerer has a weapon to shoot projectiles, while still managing to do close-up attacks that’ll drain your health bar. She can trap you, and to make things worse, you’ll have to face the sentry guns she spawns! And if you attack her from close range without stunning first, she’ll use a shield to block and throw you away.

1. Venom

Venom Boss Fight

The ultimate boss fight in Marvel’s Spider-Man games to date. Venom is in his full force and power in this game’s ending, and you’ll have to take him down many times in four separate phases. Even in the cutscenes, you’re the one that takes the most damage against this supervillain.

First, you’ll face him twice as Peter with his antivenom suit. Venom does hammering attacks, grapples, and close-range hits that you can only parry the last one. If you defeat him, he’ll spawn many smaller symbiote-infected people, attacking you while you can not attack them unless you do a successful parry! Want worst? Venom has a shield and still attacks you while you deal with his minions!

But this isn’t the end, even if you defeat this version of Venom. He gets wings and goes after Miles as the next target. The third phase is as hard as the previous one, but if you manage to defeat him, the final round is a cinematic relieving boss fight.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is currently available to play.
