Britney Spears announces the birth of a new song she wrote without malicious intentions towards anyone no matter how scathing it might seem especially after stirring the dust in her memoir. The crooner recently added the title, author, to her resume by launching The Woman in Me. The memoir dives deep into the most private and controversial events in Britney’s life, including her conservatorship drama with her dad Jamie Spears, her mental health struggles over the years, past marriages, and family drama. As should be expected, the crooner is sure to face daggers on all fronts after dragging so many in her book. However, she’s making it clear she couldn’t care less.
Britney Spears Announces She Wrote a New Song
In a cryptic message shared on Instagram on Sunday, Britney Spears announced she just wrote a new song supposedly titled, Hate You to Like Me. However, contrary to the message one might get from interpreting the song’s title or possibly, the lyrics, the star admitted she did not intend it as a beef with anyone. This isn’t to say the new song would be all love and roses.
In her caption, Britney Spears implied that despite not beefing anyone, the song would have some dark elements that may portray it otherwise. She also revealed the true motive behind the song with more cryptic words about ego and celebrity trends. Her caption read,
“I wrote a new song !!! Hate you to like me !!! No beef with anyone … just being a narcissist in a claimed, self-entitled way !!! It’s to accumulate interest by giving ego with my eyes closed because I hear important people do that these days.”
Britney Spears’ latest announcement of a new song on the way comes in the wake of the release of her memoir, which has since burned many bridges. Notably, she dragged ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake into the mix, bringing up incidents of infidelity, and a secret abortion. Aside from Justin, who has faced the wrath of Britney’s fans since her revelations about their relationship, the book has also revived her aggressive legal woes with her dad in the wake of her conservatorship battle. Additionally, ex-husband Jason Alexander has also expressed his displeasure at some of her revelations, openly castigating her on social media and during interviews. The list goes on and on.
With many on this endless list of prospective rivals, it’s convenient for fans to interpret any scathing song lyrics as a diss track. Little wonder Britney Spears deemed it necessary to clear the air ahead of the song’s official release.
