The Rune Table is a powerful artifact created by the Dwarves of Durin’s Folk, back in the Second Age of Middle-earth. The main purpose of this artifact is to improve your weapons with rune effects. To use this artifact, you first need to get access to it, so we’re going to show you how to build and use The Rune Table in Return to Moria. Finding the Rune Table is only half the job, but to use it, you’ll need to repair it first. Follow our instructions to learn how to do this, as well as the benefits of interacting with this artifact.

The Rune Table is not crafted from scratch but can be found randomly in Mines of Moria. After it is found, you have to fix it, and to accomplish this, talk to Loni in the Blacksmith Area and then bring the following resources to the artifact:

  • Steel Ingot x1
  • Elven Wood x15

Once you do this, you can fix the Rune Table and use it to improve your weapons and gain an advantage over your enemies.

To use it, interact with the artifact and place the weapon you want to apply the rune to. On the right side of the screen, you will notice the enchantment requirements, and in all cases, you will need to have gems at hand. Enchantment requirements may vary depending on the type of weapon and rune tier. In general, there are 3 tiers of runes:

  • Common
  • Rare
  • Epic

The higher the rune level, the more sapphires you will need to apply it. Sapphires are not the only gems you will need for the Rune Table, but they will be the main ones. So, once you have chosen a weapon and fulfilled all the requirements, you can use the rune to gain effects and an advantage in battle. If you like the weapon and rune you are using, you can upgrade it to increase its power and effects. To accomplish this, you will need rune fragments, which you can find around the mines, mostly in Orkish Chests.

It is also worth noting that the rune used on a weapon cannot be removed or destroyed but only replaced with another one. If you are unsure that the new effect will be stronger, it is better not to experiment before applying a new rune and destroying the previous one.
