The end of the Krakoan Age is rapidly approaching, and Marvel is sharing some details on the comics that will see its fall. Kicking off in January, the intertwined Fall of the House of X and Rise of the Powers of X series begin the end of the current age of mutants. Both five-issue limited series will be helmed by two different but brilliant creative teams. Together, the series delivers a climactic final battle as mutants fight against their own extinction. Now, Marvel is revealing the covers of the second issue for each of the series to get fans ready for a hell of a final bow.
End Of The Krakoan Age
The end of the Krakoan Age has been teased for a while now, and it is rapidly approaching. These final two series will completely redefine the age of mutants. While we don’t yet know what the future holds for the X-Men, we do know it is going to be quite a battle before the end.
While Gerry Duggan and Lucas Werneck handle things for Fall of the House of X, Kieron Gillen and R.B. Silva take the reins of Rise of the Powers of X. However, both series will intertwine to tell a singular story concerning the end of the Krakoan Age. According to Duggan, this is the story that has been in the works since the Dawn of Krakoa.
A Peek Behind The Curtain
In the February 2024 issues of each series, the story really begins to ramp up as the end looms larger. For Fall of the House of X #2, the X-Men are at their lowest and on the brink of extinction. However, they have never taken defeat without a fight. As things get dark, Polaris returns, and she is not alone. She has a surprise up her sleeve for Orchis.
Meanwhile, in The Rise of the Powers of X, Xavier and his crew are hiding in-between dimensions. They are attempting to escape from Dominion, who wants to crush them all. However, can they survive this limbo they are in? And when their plans are revealed, will we want them to survive? What plan is rolling around in Charles’ head? These are questions that will be answered before the end of the Krakoan Age.
