The Ammo Mods in MW3 Zombies are the items you can apply to your weapons to freeze, electrify, or burn zombies. However, you won’t just find these ammunitions anywhere in MWZ. Particular locations have these items inside, and you need to pass a small challenge to have one of these Ammo Mods in MWZ. But remember, obtaining these items requires no special weapon or gear.

You can find Ammo Mods in Aether Nests and Strongholds in MW3 Zombies. The image above shows a marked Aether Nest, which is the place you’d want to visit. Once inside, look for the glowing yellow tumors on the walls and the ceilings. Shoot them all, and the area will be purged from corruption. Now, looking around the place, you’ll find some Aether boxes that most probably have at least one Ammo Mod inside.

Finding Ammo Mods in Aether Nests is a quick way of obtaining elemental powers in MW3 Zombies; however, it’s not the only option. If you go to the Infested Strongholds marked in the image above, you’ll find a big building that is fully infected by Aether. There are more zombies inside, and more tumors are destroyed; same drill, bigger playground. And for working harder to defeat infection, you’ll be rewarded with more loot and valuable rewards such as Ammo Mods and even circuit boards with Ammo Mod elements in MW3 Zombies!

Remember, there’s a weak spore inside both of these nest locations, which means you’ll be gradually damaged before purging the area. For that, you might need to bring a Gas Mask with you to survive the toxic gas. If you don’t have any masks, however, try going inside, and once your HP drops low, get out to get some fresh air. In that case, Ravenov will also drive you mad, ordering you to mask up.

There’s also a third option for obtaining Ammo Mods in MWZ – MW3 Zombies: crafting the mods. You can craft items before starting each match, which requires the related schematics in MWZ. Check out the related article below for more info on how to find and craft all the schematics in MW3 Zombies.
