The Boat Vandal is a bit of a tricky bugger in Spirittea. There are more than a couple of plot twists and confusing moments that you’ll encounter while trying to find the elusive vandal. There’s also quite a bit that goes into actually catching the sneaky spirit. Not only do you have to wait for a specific time, but you also have to get involved in a high-speed spirit chase, find a hidden door, and, of course, calm the spirits down and talk them into chilling at the new and improved bathhouse you’re now running. The process doesn’t take too long but be prepared to experience a bit of frustration.

The first thing you’ll need to do is talk to Sujin, and I mean really talk to her. Just interacting with her once or twice won’t do it. You must continue to interact with her until her final message is, “I wouldn’t want you to get hurt for my sake!” After that point, you will be able to begin looking for the Boat Vandal.

Throughout this process, you’ll learn some important clues that will help you discover the vandal sooner than later. First, Sujin will tell you that she leaves for work at 5:30 PM every weekday. That said, before you can start looking around the boat, you must wait until at least 5:30 in the afternoon on a weekday.

After 5:30 hits, watch for Sujin to leave, then stay outside of the boat. Activate your Spirit Vision so that you can see the vandal and look around. You will see the Boat Vandal with a mop in hand, covering the outside of Sujin’s boat with a fresh coat of graffiti.

Head over to the Boat Vandal and speak with it. You can choose to either say “Caught you” or “Boo!” Either option will result in the vandal saying that they were only following orders and to not hurt them. However, that will mean very little when the spirit begins to run away.

Follow behind the spirit as quickly as you can by sprinting so that you don’t lose it. However, once your each a certain point, you will no longer be able to see the spirit anymore. If you watched closely, you’ll notice that the area the spirit disappeared into is hidden by a large rock.

Approach the rock and interact with it in the same position the Boat Vandal did to discover a hidden trap door that leads down into a new area. Once you’re inside, activate your Spirit Vision one more time to find the culprit and speak with them. Soon, a second spirit will arrive, and both will be uncovered to reveal two new bathhouse customers.
