As you can infer from the World of Warcraft item’s name, the Kolkar Booty are Chests owned by the Kolkar Centaur clan. The Kolkars roam The Barrens, so you can find the treasure boxes scattered all over the area. But before you can loot the booty, you will need to carry the Kolkar Booty Keys as well. Thankfully, locating both the Chests and Keys should not be too hard of an effort.
World of Warcraft: Kolkar Booty Chests and Keys Location
Three Kolkar Booty Chests can be found in most of the centaur camps and near oases in The Barrens zone. Or if you’re playing retail, in the Northern part of the now-split savanna. Below are the coordinates for both retail and World of Warcraft Classic:
World of Warcraft Classic (The Barrens) | World of Warcraft Retail (Northern Barrens) |
---|---|
43, 23; west of Crossroads | 34, 46; west of The Forgotten Pools |
44.3, 37.7; west of Wailing Caverns | 51,79; west of The Stagnant Oasis |
53, 41.8; southeast of Wailing Caverns |
In both World of Warcraft versions, Kolkar Booty Chests will always reward you with one to three Haunch of Meat. Aside from that, you will also get up to Level 13 Uncommon/Green-colored gears.
Meanwhile, the Key can be found by killing various Kolkar mobs. Such as the Kolkar Wrangler, Kolkar Stormer, Kolkar Pack Runner (retail), and Barak Kodobane unique NPC. The item has around a 5% drop rate.
Although you can only carry one at a time, Kolkar enemies can still drop more than one Keys. When that happens, the best way to farm the Kolkar Booty in World of Warcraft is by running back and forth between Chest and Keys. Carry your first Key to the nearest Chest and defeat the mob guarding it. Open the Chest and make sure to completely take all its loot. Run back to the second Key you find and head to the Chest again. Repeat as many as necessary.
The Kolkar Booty Chest can be instantly opened as long as you carry a Key. But do ensure that you have emptied the Chest before grabbing another Key. Because if you leave even just one item and reopen the Chest, you’ll end up getting the leftover stuff again instead of new loot!
