The beginning of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s love story has finally been revealed. In her cover interview for Time‘s 2023 Person of the Year, the “Cruel Summer” singer opened up about her relationship with the NFL star for the first time. One of the juiciest pieces of information Swift shared is that she and Kelce started dating earlier than anyone thought. In fact, the stars were already a couple by the time Swift attended her first Kansas City Chiefs game in September.
So, When Did Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Start Dating?
As it turns out, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce connected for the first time five months ago. The singer admitted that she and the football tight end began dating shortly after Kelce mentioned her on his New Heights podcast on July 26.
This all started when Travis very adorably put me on blast on his podcast, which I thought was metal as hell.

During the episode, Kelce revealed that he tried to shoot his shot with the singer by giving her a bracelet with his phone number on it. However, his plan fell through after learning that Swift couldn’t talk to anyone before or after her concerts to preserve her voice for her three-hour-long show. While Kelce’s initial attempt at contacting Swift didn’t work, it did lead to them getting in contact and hanging out.
Swift said that she and Kelce “had a significant amount of time” getting to know each other before making their relationship public. So, by the time she attended the Kansas City Chiefs game on Sept. 24, the two were already an item.
I think some people think that they saw our first date at that game? We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date.

Over the past few months, Swift has continued to support Kelce by attending a few of his games. Most recently, the star traveled to Green Bay, Wisconsin, to watch Kelce and the rest of the Kansas City Chiefs play against the Green Bay Packers on Dec. 3.
