DC Comics has announced the re-release ofย Justice League vs. Godzilla vs. Kongย issues one and two in a monster-sized edition. This comes after the first two issues of the Legendary Comics and DC collab sold out completely. The special edition is up for pre-order now but will not release until January 16. This comes after issue three of the series hits shelves on 12/19. If the monster-sized edition is not for you, DC also released special โ€œsoundโ€ variants of the issues. These play special roaring SFX to bring these monsters to life.ย

As the rather long title may suggest, this comic series features the Justice League taking on Godzilla and Kong. The series has proved to be quite a hit with readers, selling out rather quickly. The seven-issue series features a showdown between the Justice League and the Legion of Doom that takes a monstrous turn. The wall that separates worlds becomes unstable and the Monsterverse begins emerging in the DC Universe. Now, Superman and the gang must stop Godzilla, Kong, and more from destroying their world.ย

The Legendary Universe and DC collaboration comes from writer Brian Buccellato and artist Christian Duce. It continues next in Justice League Vs. Godzilla Vs. Kong #3 in two weeks. The issue focuses on the devastation left in the wake of Superman and Godzillaโ€™s battle in metropolis. Plus, Supergirl has her hands full on Skull Island with Kong. Meanwhile, Wonder Woman is taking on Behemoth as the kaiju attempts to infiltrate Themyscira.ย

Even More Monsters

Itโ€™s a big year for monsters, especially those in the Legendary Universe. Justice League Vs. Godzilla Vs. Kong is releasing alongside Appleโ€™s Monarch: Legacy of Monsters series. This is the first live-action Monsterverse series and follows a world where Godzilla and other monsters exist and threaten human existence. Of course, the entire Monsterverse comes from the 2014 Godzilla film. From there, Legendary and Warner Brothers (the owner of DC) released a slew of monster films. A new entry, Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire, is slated for release in April.

Justice League Vs. Godzilla Vs. Kong: Monster-Sized Edition #1 is on sale 1/16.
