Shortly after jumping into the brick world of LEGO Fortnite, you’ll be introduced to crafting. Creating structures, crafting your bed, and searching for resources will quickly become your main priorities. There will come a point where you will absolutely need Knotroot to upgrade your tools and Crafting Benches to the next level. Make sure you’re armed before we dive into how to get Knotroot in LEGO Fortnite.

Knotroot can only be found in Grassland Caves. On your map, any caves that you’ve visited or passed in the Grasslands will be marked with a white cave symbol. Inside, you’ll want to be armed with a torch and some sort of weapon, as there are different monsters to be found.

Inside, you should immediately notice these strange roots sprawling from the cave walls. This is Knotroot. In order to not it down and put it in your inventory, you’re going to need an Uncommon Axe. Although it’s called an Uncommon Axe, it doesn’t require uncommon resources to craft it. You do, however, need to upgrade your Crafting Bench to the Uncommon Crafting Bench first.

Once you have the Uncommon Axe, just chop down at the roots in the Grassland Caves to get Knotroot.

How to Upgrade the Crafting Bench

When in the Crafting Bench menu, go over to the Bench Upgrade section. Here, you’ll see that you need to have eight Wood Planks and three Shells to upgrade it. Once you have all the required resources, you can upgrade the bench and do what you need to do in order to find the Knotroot.
