The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt released worldwide in May last year, and quickly became regarded as one of, if not the, best RPGs in any console’s library. It brings a few changes from previous games, such as the Witcher Sense and a nicer item and potion making system. Witcher 3 tells the final chapters of Geralt’s personal story (supposedly), though it leaves off on one of the heaviest cliffhangers ever to be hung over a cliff. But enough about that. We came here to see someone demolish this massive, intricate world, and that’s exactly what we’re going to get.

Corpseflesh hardly speaks during the run. Aside from dialogue skipping, it’s easy to become immersed in Witcher 3 from the first few seconds as the setting and ambiance fill our senses. We can almost see ourselves in the world right alongside Geralt. And then the magic is abruptly beaten to death with an iron bat not ten minutes into the game.

Followers of speedruns may have heard that running The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt takes over 24 hours to accomplish. Well, only if two real-time hours somehow equates to 24 real-time hours. You don’t have to be very good at math to know those numbers don’t match up. Yes, Corpseflesh compresses all that content into less time than the Super Bowl. How does he do it? Glitches, of course. As we will see, a superspeed running trick is used to carry Geralt from A to B in next to no time flat. The current patched version of Witcher 3 does not include this glitch, but Corpseflesh still completes it in under four hours.

So much for ambiance, and so much for 24 hours. This might be the very first time the word “speedrun” became so perfectly literal. But before you run off to play the game yourself, leave a comment and give the rest of The Nerd Stash a look.
